Paris St. Germain Fined €100,000 For 'Collective Negligence' At Academy

Paris St. Germain was ordered to pay a fine of €100,000 ($113,875) over racism allegations, according to L’ÉQUIPE. The French Professional Football League’s discipline commission held a special meeting on Tuesday to decide the fate of PSG over allegations of racism in its registration tactics at its academy. Commission President Sébastien Deneux addressed an “individual's ineptness" and  the club's "collective negligence.” PSG can appeal the decision. Former PSG Academy GM Bertrand Reuzeau was fined €10,000 ($11,400). Former PSG recruiters Marc Westerloppe and Pierre Reynaud were fined €5,000 ($5,700) each. The discipline commission found that the club's registration policy “did not serve to discriminate against young players” (L’ÉQUIPE, 1/22).
