Names In The News: Virat Kohli Cleans Up ICC Player Of The Year Awards

Indian cricket captain VIRAT KOHLI capped a memorable '18 season by becoming the first to win the ICC's cricketer, test and one-day int'l player of the year awards. Kohli, the top scorer in both tests and ODIs in '18, was also named captain of the ICC test and ODI teams of the year (REUTERS, 1/22). ... RAFA BENÍTEZ is set to leave Newcastle United at the end of the season unless the club manages to "give him the two signings he asked for at the start of this transfer window." Benítez is "desperate" for transfers to be made and gave the club a list of targets in December, but Newcastle is "yet to land any of them" (London TELEGRAPH, 1/22).
