Lagardère Sports Partners With LoL European Championship

Lagardère Sports announced a multi-year partnership with the League of Legends European Championship (LEC) ahead of the league’s inaugural season, according to Jack Stewart of THE ESPORTS OBSERVER. The strategic partnership will focus on the commercialization of the newly-established LEC, and will see Lagardère Sports become the exclusive marketing agency for the competition. Lagardère Sports "will look to apply its experience to the esports industry" to create partnerships between endemic and non-endemic brands and the LEC. The agency plans to launch a microsite as part of the partnership. Lagardère Sports said that it also plans to announce several brand partnerships for the LEC in the coming days as the league prepares for its first day of competition on Friday. Last week, Kia Motors was announced as the official automotive sponsor of the LEC (TEO, 1/15).
