Marketplace Roundup: Sunderland Partners With Apple Music

League One side Sunderland announced a partnership with streaming service Apple Music. The deal will enable supporters to access playlists personally curated by the players. The first, available both on Apple Music and Sunderland’s club website, features tracks selected by players Luke O’Nien, Jon McLaughlin and Jack Baldwin (BDAILY, 1/14).

Super League and the Rugby Football League announced an extended partnership with Batchelors Peas until the end of the '21 season. Batchelors Peas began its relationship with Rugby League in '16 and will receive matchday branding across all Super League grounds and at televised Challenge Cup matches (Rugby League).

Mercedes Formula 1 driver Valtteri Bottas lost "major personal sponsor" Wihuri. Billionaire Antti Aarnio-Wihuri, the company's boss, said that sponsoring F1 has become "too expensive" for his tastes. He also admitted that Bottas' poor performance at Mercedes in '18 "contributed to the decision" (GMM, 1/10).
