Marketplace Roundup: Nippon Paint To Sponsor Pro Volleyball League

Nippon Paint signed a two-season sponsorship deal with the Pro Volleyball League, scheduled to launch on Feb. 2. The company becomes an associate sponsor of the newest franchise-based sporting league, which is an initiative of sports marketing firm Baseline Ventures and the Volleyball Federation of India. The inaugural season will start with six franchises from Ahmedabad, Clicut, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kochi and Mumbai (ECONOMIC TIMES, 12/2).

FILA announced a sponsorship agreement with women's tennis World No. 9 Kiki Bertens. She joins the company's roster of WTA and ATP World Tour players who wear the FILA brand on-court. The 27-year-old Dutch player has seven career WTA singles titles and 10 doubles titles (FILA). 

ExxonMobil Qatar renewed its sponsorship agreement of the Qatar Open, the ATP 250 tournament, for another three years (BEIN SPORTS, 1/2).

Consumer credit business Cofidis and the Spanish Cycling Federation (RFEC) renewed their partnership for the next three years ('19-21). The French company has been involved in cycling since it created the Cofidis team in '96 (AS, 1/2).

Puma signed a long-term sponsorship agreement with Porsche Motorsport to become the exclusive technical partner for fireproof racing clothing as well as shoes, caps and luggage. Puma will equip all 24 Porsche Works drivers, juniors and young professionals as well as all pit crews of the Porsche factory teams. The Puma logo will be featured on race cars and all racing clothing of the Porsche factory drivers and pit crews (Puma).
