Scudamore Reportedly Paid £4M Bonus On Top Of £5M 'Golden Farewell'

Former Premier League Exec Chair Richard Scudamore reportedly earned a £4M-plus bonus for the Premier League TV deals that he negotiated last year in addition to his "controversial" £5M exit payment, according to Martyn Ziegler of the LONDON TIMES. The Premier League posted its annual accounts at Companies House which show that Scudamore, who stepped down as exec chair last month, earned £2.6M in the year ending July 31, 2018. That includes a £1.5M bonus, the third tranche of the £4.5M he was awarded for the '16-19 TV deals. Club sources said that Scudamore was "given a similar bonus" for the '19-22 TV deals that he negotiated, which was separate to the £5M "golden farewell" that the 20 EPL clubs agreed to pay him in November. The Premier League would not comment on the bonuses, which are agreed to by its audit and remuneration committee headed by Chelsea Chair Bruce Buck (LONDON TIMES, 1/2).
