Franchise Notes: Bologna Fans To 'Go On Strike' Until Director Is Fired

Serie A side Bologna fans announced they will "go on strike" until the club fires Dir Marco Di Vaio. The fans said that "the time for talk and statements is over." The club is currently 18th in the league. The ultras released a statement confirming they will "step up their protests," in particular against Di Vaio, but also GM Claudio Fenucci and Dir of Sport Riccardo Bigon (FOOTBALL ITALIA, 12/30).

Premiership Rugby side Sale Sharks Dir of Rugby Steve Diamond "could be investigated by the Rugby Football Union following a confrontation with a journalist after his side beat Gloucester on Saturday." Following the post-match press conference, Diamond reportedly challenged Sam Peters, who writes for the Sunday Times and the London Independent. Peters took to social media to "confirm an altercation took place." A spokesperson said that the RFU would "look into it" if a complaint is received (BBC, 12/30).

Serie A side Napoli fans and players "showed their support" for defender Kalidou Koulibaly after he was subjected to racist chants this week. Fans held up photos of Koulibaly and anti-racism banners with the hashtag label #SiamotuttiKalidou, which translates as "We are all Kalidou" (AP, 12/30).
