Formula 1 Race Weekends Draw More Than 4 Million In '18

A total of 4,093,305 spectators attended at least one of the 21 grands prix during the '18 Formula 1 season, with an average attendance of 194,919. Seven races attracted crowds of more than 200,000: Great Britain (340,000), Mexico (334,946), Australia (295,000), U.S. (263,160), Singapore (263,000), Belgium (250,000) and Hungary (210,000). The average attendance per race weekend represented a 2.7% increase from '17. Four events experienced an increase of more than 10%: Azerbaijan (31.6%), Austria (27.6%), Japan (20.4%) and Canada (11.4%). Total attendance at the 21 Sunday races totaled 1,702,959, an average of 81,093. Silverstone drew the biggest Sunday crowd with 140,500, followed by the Mexican GP (135,407) and the U.S. GP (111,580) (Formula 1).
