Former Scotland rugby coach SCOTT JOHNSON will return to Australia as director of rugby. Wallabies coach MICAHEL CHEIKA's powers will be "significantly reduced." He will remain as coach through next year's World Cup but he will "have to answer" to Johnson. Johnson will not return to Australia until he finishes his current job with Scotland in mid-March (THE AUSTRALIAN, 12/17). ... Formula E announced ALEJANDRO AGAG will "step up" from his position as CEO to chair in an "increasing effort to focus on relationships" with commercial partners, host cities and FIA. Agag will continue to serve as CEO until a replacement is found (FORBES, 12/14). ... TOM KERR was appointed editor of the Racing Post and group racing director, replacing BRUCE MILLINGTON, who stepped down on Friday after 11 years at the helm. Kerr, 31, was named Racing Writer of the Year in '16 by the Horserace Writers & Photographers Association and steps up to editor having previously held the role of senior writer (Racing Post). ... Electronic Arts hired PAUL JOHNSON as its new head of commercialization for esports. Johnson will lead EA's global push to "grow and enhance out-of-game revenue" related to the publisher's esports offerings, including sponsorships, advertising, media rights, licensing fees and merchandising (THE ESPORTS OBSERVER, 12/14). ... Belgian First Division A side Anderlecht dismissed coach HEIN VANHAEZEBROUCK after "a series of poor results" that led to the club's exit from the Europa League and drop to fourth in its domestic league (REUTERS, 12/17).
