Media Notes: EPL To Leave Linear TV In Canada For Perform's DAZN

Premier League football is "set to not have a home on traditional Canadian TV for the first time in at least two decades." Online streaming service DAZN will exclusively carry the Premier League. Currently, EPL rights are split between TSN and Rogers Sportsnet (THE PROVINCE, 12/8).

The European Commission published its inaugural list of non-EU websites and firms that it deems "responsible for piracy and counterfeiting abuse of European products," including films and music. The Watch List aims to encourage the operators of these marketplaces, local enforcement authorities and governments to "take action to crack down on intellectual property abuse." Video content from Polish side Legia Warsaw "appeared on the hbbTV portal of Poland's Multiplex 8." It is the first project of its kind in the country (BROADBAND TV NEWS, 12/10).
