The old Cricket Wellington office is gone, "leaving a grass space for a planned kids' playground." Looming nearby is the Museum Stand, which will next year undergo a major restoration at a cost of NZ$7-NZ$8M ($4.8M-$5.5M) to "comply with earthquake standards." The targeted completion date for the 1,000-seat stand is Feb. '20, in time for India's two-test tour (STUFF, 12/10).
Australian Football League side Port Adelaide partnered with Starfish Developments for the next two seasons, in a joint vision for the new Dock One development site. The planned community will feature 750 homes, a dockside piazza and boardwalk. Dock One is set to launch early in '19 (Australian Ministry of Sport).
Sandown Racecourse could be set for a facelift after Jockey Club Racecourses unveiled a development plan that includes the addition of a hotel and a refurbished grandstand. The track is holding a public exhibition on Saturday to consult people who live or work in the local area ahead of submitting a planning application for the work, which would be paid for by building houses on some areas of the site (Racing UK).
Ligue 1 side Nantes’ plans for a proposed new football stadium were approved by the Nantes regional government. The club plans to build a new stadium close to its current Stade de la Beaujoire, which will not be demolished (L’ÉQUIPE, 12/7).
