Bath Rugby Unveils Proposals For Roman-Style Ground

Premiership Rugby side Bath will take a "giant step" toward ending its 30-year stadium saga this week -- by unveiling proposals for new Roman-style ground in the heart of the city, according to Nik Simon of the London DAILY MAIL. Images will go to public gallery on Wednesday and club execs "hope to complete the project" by Sept. '21. Previous plans "have been shot down by local residents and legal wrangles." The new permanent stadium will be shifted 50m away from the waterfront, "which will be regenerated with cafes and bars." The pitch is likely to be a Desso surface and built above a 600-800-capacity underground car park. The project will likely cost between £60M-£80M ($76.6M-$102M) and home matches would "need to be played on an alternative site for around one and a half seasons" (DAILY MAIL, 12/1).
