Media Notes: IMG, EPL Extend In-Flight, In-Ship Media Rights Deal

IMG agreed to a three-year deal with the Premier League for global in-flight and in-ship media rights, which will once again include live coverage on Sport 24 and Sport 24 Extra. The new agreement, which covers the '19-20, '20-21 and '21-22 seasons, extends the partnership to 20 years, while also reaching the decade mark for Sport 24, which launched in '12 (IMG).

The official Twitter account for the Bundesliga challenged Borussia Mönchengladbach to a wager. The league told the team it "can have the league title" if it gains 50 million retweets for one of its posts. Mönchengladbach is currently second in the Bundesliga (four points behind Borussia Dortmund) and "right in contention" for its sixth title (BBC, 11/26).

UFC signed a multi-year broadcast partnership with African broadcaster SuperSport. The deal will begin in January (UFC).

French broadcaster TF1 signed an agreement with beIN Sports to co-broadcast the men’s and women’s World Handball Championships from '19-25. TF1 will show three group matches of the French teams and a semifinal, should the French teams qualify. TF1 already has an agreement to show the final should a French team qualify. BeIN Sports will broadcast the tournaments in their entirety (L'ÉQUIPE, 11/22).
