Media Notes: Spanish Football Federation Partners With Footters

The Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) and streaming platform Footters reached an agreement under which the platform will broadcast matches from Spain's third and fourth tiers -- Segunda B and Tercera. The deal will initially run for three seasons (RFEF). Footters' website offers two subscription options. One costs €6.99 ($7.93) per month for access to all Segunda B and Tercera matches, while the other costs €2.99 ($3.39) for an individual match (Footters).

Singtel announced it will continue broadcasting the Premier League in Singapore for the next three seasons. The deal will run from Aug. '19 to May '22, extending Singtel's "reign as the official broadcaster of the EPL in Singapore" to 12 consecutive years (THE DRUM, 11/23).

BT Group's EE and BT Sport "demonstrated the first live two-way broadcast with remote production over 5G," delivered from Wembley Stadium to the ExCeL Exhibition Centre in London. This is an approach BT Sport will use to "increase the coverage available to viewers with more matches and faster highlights." Sunday's final of the FA-recognized EE Wembley Cup 2018 was "the world's first live sporting event to be broadcast over 5G using remote production" (BROADBAND TV NEWS, 11/22).

O2 ended the third quarter with 673,000 registered devices for its TV service in the Czech Republic. According to the company's latest set of results, this was a 22% increase on the corresponding period in '17. O2 Czech Republic CEO Jindrich Fremuth: "I am glad that our decision to bring to the customers the most attractive sports content -- the first Czech football league, the UEFA Champions League and the domestic ice hockey league -- has proved positive results already in the first months" (BROADBAND TV NEWS, 11/22).

For the first time in Portugal, Eleven Sports showed the Bundesliga live on Facebook, streaming Saturday's match between Bayern Munich and Fortuna Düsseldorf. Eleven Sports has been live streaming football on Facebook in Portugal, "with recent matches from other top European leagues being shown" (BROADBAND TV NEWS, 11/22).

The Int'l Cricket Council partnered with Google to show the semifinals and final of the ICC Women's World T20 2018 in the West Indies. The collaboration included enabling the casting of video content from the ICC mobile app (ICC).

Motorsport Network's first feature, "Motorsport Heroes," will commence filming this month. It will will be produced and directed by Manish Pandey (Motorsport Network).
