Guinness Celebrates Ireland's 16-9 Win Over New Zealand

Guinness "found the perfect way to top off" Ireland's defeat of the All Blacks, according to STUFF. Following Ireland's 16-9 victory over New Zealand in Dublin, Guinness celebrated with an advertisement that "added a little salt to the All Blacks' wounds -- but also something to wash it down with." The brewery was the naming sponsor of Ireland's home series of matches against Argentina, the All Blacks and the U.S. (STUFF, 11/19).

WORTH THE HYPE: The IRISH INDEPENDENT reported the match generated an average audience of 873,000 -- with over 1 million viewers watching the game's "dramatic closing moments." The game "was hyped from a long way out and that interest was reflected in the huge viewing figures for the Saturday night clash." It was the second-most watched sports broadcast on RTÉ this year after last summer's World Cup semifinal between England and Croatia (IRISH INDEPENDENT, 11/19).
