EuroLeague Basketball's Revenue Jumped To €58.8M In '17-18

EuroLeague Basketball "nearly doubled" its revenue from '15-16 to '17-18 "thanks mainly to audiovisual rights," which represent more than 50% of the EuroLeague's business, according to Guillermo G. Recio of PALCO23. EuroLeague reportedly made €58.8M in '17-18, a 96% increase from '15-16, the last year under the league's previous group-based format, a league spokesperson said. Since then, "with a regular season model in which the number of games has increased, this has directly impacted on sponsors and broadcast partners." Revenue from audiovisual rights has increased from €15.9M in '15-16 to €32.3M in '17-18. The collective TV audience for live games reached 50.6 million in '17-18, a 9% increase from the previous season, according to Nielsen (PALCO23, 11/15).
