Executive Transactions: Sportech CEO Andrew Gaughan To Step Down

London-listed sports betting provider Sportech confirmed ANDREW GAUGHAN "will be stepping down" as CEO at the end of February. Gaughan, who took over the CEO role in March, informed the company's board of his "intention to step down as a director." He will leave the group on Feb. 28 "following an orderly handover period to pursue other interests" (GAMING INTELLIGENCE, 11/13). ... Allied Global Marketing launched a new division, Allied Sports, which named Excel Sports Management Senior VP/Sales SEAN BARROR managing director. Allied Sports also named former ad agency Hill Holiday Chair, President & CEO MIKE SHEEHAN managing partner & senior advisor and Boston Globe Media GM of BG Brandlab JONATHAN FADOR head of sales (Allied Sports). ... Esports tournament organizer ESL added 20-year sports media veteran FRANK UDDO as SVP of global media, a new position in the company. Uddo will lead the company as it navigates the growing market for esports media rights. He will also be responsible for overseeing the promotion’s partnerships with media and streaming platforms (THE ESPORTS OBSERVER, 11/14). ... The National Rugby League fired "controversial" Head of Referees TONY ARCHER after a "tumultuous season of match officiating and dissention within the ranks." The NRL will demote Archer to a new game development role with no jurisdiction or connection with the refereeing department (Sydney DAILY TELEGRAPH, 11/14).

COACHES/MANAGERS: Colombian football club Millonarios hired JORGE LUIS PINTO as its new coach, replacing MIGUEL ÁNGEL RUSSO (AS, 11/13). ... Serie A side Udinese named DAVIDE NICOLA its new head coach after sacking JULIO VELÁZQUEZ.
