Inter CEO: Joint Stadium Project Could 'Proceed Quickly'

Alessandro Antonello said that maintaining a positive climate between Inter, AC Milan is important.GETTY IMAGES

Inter Milan CEO Alessandro Antonello feels "there are all the conditions to be able to proceed quickly" on the shared stadium project with AC Milan, according to FOOTBALL ITALIA. The two clubs have agreed to share the cost of developing a state-of-the-art stadium, which is "likely to entail renovating San Siro over a four year period." While theoretically they could build an entirely new arena, the "most likely option is for both to remain at the Meazza, but with a complete makeover." Antonello said, "It's an agreement in which the two clubs have committed themselves to working together to give the city of Milan an infrastructure on the level of the principal cities of Europe. After that, we'll see. The work is at the beginning but the important thing is that the climate is positive between the two clubs" (FOOTBALL ITALIA, 11/14).
