Inter, AC Milan Agree To MOU Over Stadium Development Plans

Inter, AC Milan have shared San Siro since '47.

Inter Milan and AC Milan agreed to a "memorandum of understanding" over plans to develop a stadium, according to GOAL. The clubs currently share Giuseppe Meazza Stadium, also known as San Siro, and have done so since '47. Inter and AC Milan, which are second and fourth in Serie A this season, respectively, "consider a new stadium essential for both fan bases and the long-term success for each team." The pair have "no intention of ending their sharing arrangement," as they have announced "plans to find a solution to their stadium question together." Among their options, redeveloping San Siro is "a possibility the clubs are considering." After meeting with Milan Mayor Giuseppe Sala, they hope to finalize the first stage of their plans by the end of '18 (GOAL, 11/9).

ITALIAN UPGRADE: ANSA reported University of Salerno Rector Aurelio Tommasetti presented the plan for the upgrade of the field at the UNISA Pasquale Vittoria Stadium in Fisciano, Italy, for the 2019 Universiade World University Games, and said that work "would be completed within 201 days." The renovation work will cost about €802,000 ($901,600) and will be financed by the University of Salerno and the Regional Agency for the Universiade (ARU). The project includes the installation of a synthetic field, renovation of the track and field for the long jump and triple jump, renovation of the lighting system for the track and field and renovation of the locker rooms, with a new internal arrangement along the track (ANSA, 11/9).
