RFRSH Entertainment Raises €10M In Additional Funding

RFRSH Entertainment, the owner of Astralis and operator of the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive BLAST Pro Series, raised an additional €10M ($11.3M) in funding, according to Jack Stewart of THE ESPORTS OBSERVER. Leading the round were existing RFRSH investors Sunstone and Creandum as well as the Danish Growth Fund. In a statement, RFRSH said that the funding will help "strengthen the company's position in the global esports entertainment industry." According to a report in October, Astralis was accepted into the European League of Legends Championship Series for next season as one of the league's ten new long-term partners. New teams entering the league are required to pay Riot Games a buy-in fee of €10.5M ($11.9M). On top of that, RFRSH is expanding its BLAST Pro Series, with plans next year to bring the tournament to three new cities: São Paulo, Madrid and Miami (TEO, 11/9).
