Leicester Tigers' Accounts Reveal Record Revenue For '17-18

Premiership Rugby side Leicester Tigers' annual report and accounts for '17-18 revealed record revenues of more than £20M ($26M). In the 12 months to June 30, club turnover increased to £20.4M ($26.5M), up from £19.7M in the previous year and an increase of around £1.5M on the figures from '15-16. The club recorded its highest-ever sponsorship revenues during the year, up 11% on the the '16-17 figures to £2.9M ($3.7M), "establishing a number of new relationships as well as extending terms with existing partners." Ticket sales for Premiership Rugby fixtures during the year also reached their best-ever levels. More than 250,000 match tickets were sold for Premiership Rugby fixtures at Welford Road, producing an average league attendance of 22,883. The business recorded an operating loss before tax of £991,000 ($1.2M), compared with a loss of £686,000 during the previous year (Premiership Rugby). 

ASICS GROWTH: The third quarter of '18 for Asics America Group, which includes the U.S., Canada, Mexico and LATAM, saw momentum and growth on brand-owned sites and at key retail accounts driven by the announcement of three new performance footwear models. Asics has experienced a 51% growth in e-commerce sales since the second quarter, based on new product launches as well as a shift in consumer shopping behavior toward brand-owned sites, where the company is seeing the most growth -- more than 20% year-over-year. Asics also continued to experience growth across key retail channels, citing 4% quarter growth and 10.8% growth year-over-year (Asics).
