League Notes: PCB To Investigate T20 Int'l Biscuit-Shaped Trophy

The Pakistan Cricket Board, "embarrassed" by the biscuit-shaped trophy that "became a social media joke" before the T20 Int'l series against Australia, launched an inquiry into the fiasco. A PCB official said, "The silverware was an embarrassment for us and investigation is being held as to how the concerned department allowed this to happen" (PTI, 10/31).

Golfers could be forced to wear hard hats "in a bid to reduce golfing-related injuries," a U.K. health & safety expert revealed. Chris Hall, of Protecting.co.uk, a health and safety and employment agency, said that "thousands of pounds are paid out each year in claims for head injuries from misjudged golf balls." Statistics suggest 16-41% of amateur golfers are injured each year (SCOTSMAN, 10/31).

Sara Cox will become the first woman to referee two top-flight English teams when she takes charge of Northampton vs. Wasps in the Premiership Rugby Cup on Sunday. Cox, 28, because the world's first professional female rugby referee in March '16, when she earned a central contract with the Rugby Football Union (BBC, 10/31).
