Former Ghana FA President Kwesi Nyantakyi was banned from the sport for life "for breaking bribery and corruption rules." FIFA said that Nyantakyi also "broke conflict of interest rules." Nyantakyi was also VP of the Confederation of African Football and a member of the FIFA Council (BBC, 10/30).

ManU's plea for extra tickets for the derby game was "largely ignored" by Man City. ManU complained about a reduced allocation for last season's fixture but was given only 70 more for the game at the Etihad on Nov. 11. ManU hoped that last year's allocation of 2,792 "would be upped" to the 3,000 given to other Premier League visitors (London DAILY MAIL, 10/30).

Former Arsenal and FA exec David Dein launched the Twinning Project, seeking to pair all football clubs in the EPL and the English Football League "with local prisons." Along with the League Managers Association and the Professional Footballers' Association, clubs "will provide coaches, working with PE officers from the Prison Service." Dein: "Football can be a powerful force for good, and the Twinning Project will use this to help people change their lives when they are released from prison" (LONDON TIMES, 10/31).
