Al Jazeera In Talks With Interpol As Cricket Match-Fixing Probe Continues

David Harrison, the Al Jazeera journalist behind allegations that England cricketers were involved in spot-fixing, said that the broadcaster "is in discussions with Interpol about its findings," according to the BBC. Harrison confirmed Al Jazeera was "in talks with Interpol to hand [its findings] over to them." He said, "The ICC and the cricket boards have the names of these players, they have all the details and are aware of all of this. This is massive, compelling evidence. The ICC say, 'Let's have more' -- well, we have got a list of questions for them." He added that taking the allegations to Interpol was "the only way to get access to the bank accounts because as journalists we cannot do that." ICC Anti-Corruption Unit GM Alex Marshall said, "We have made repeated efforts to engage with the broadcaster as it can play such a crucial part in the full and thorough investigation it has called for" (BBC, 10/23).
