Facility Notes: Plastic Seat Covering At Yarrow Stadium To Remain

The New Plymouth District Council is considering renovating seats at Yarrow Stadium.GETTY IMAGES

Non-recyclable plastic covering 2,000 seats at New Plymouth's Yarrow Stadium in Taranaki, New Zealand, will remain for "as long as it lasts," it was revealed. But New Plymouth District Council is looking at renovating the seats, "which are beginning to break down after eight years' exposure to the elements." The plastic covering was "put on at the southern end of the field" in September at a cost of more than NZ$2,000 ($1,300) (STUFF, 10/16).

La Liga side Eibar "is pushing" to have its training complex moved from its current location to one in the city. The club's administrative council "convinced the owners of the land in the Azitain area of the city to apply a discount to the price of the land," dropping the cost for the club to €18.22M ($21.1M). That price "remains higher" than the €16M ($18.5M) it would cost to build a new facility in Areitio, which is outside the city. The club's shareholders "will make a decision at their next meeting" (PALCO23, 10/16).
