Executive Transactions: NZ Football President Deryck Shaw Resigns

New Zealand Football President DERYCK SHAW resigned in the "wake of a bullying scandal surrounding the national women's team." Former coach ANDREAS HERAF was found to have "bullied and harassed" players, who then refused to play for him. Shaw apologized for the lack of action over the allegations and said that he was leaving "for the good of the game" (BBC, 10/12). ... FIFA announced the departure of MARCO VAN BASTEN as chief technical development officer at the end of October on mutual terms. Since joining FIFA in '16, van Basten has overseen the organization's Technical Development Division, helping develop new technology and innovation in football as well as working with member associations to develop and enhance technical areas in football, coaching and refereeing (FIFA).
