Franchise Notes: Five PSL Clubs Fail To Deposit 'Bank Security' On Time

As many as five Pakistan Super League franchises out of the six "have failed to deposit" the "bank security" money with the Pakistan Cricket Board despite the expiration of the deadline in August, sources said. According to their contract with the PCB, PSL franchises are required to deposit the bank security money on an "annual rolling basis several months before" the start of the new PSL season. Lahore Qalandars is reportedly the only club that cleared the "bank guarantee" amount on time (DAWN, 10/4).

ManU is "considering a plan to introduce gender-neutral toilets at Old Trafford" in a bid to make the matchday experience more "welcoming and inclusive." If ManU goes ahead with the plan, it will become "the first top-flight club to introduce the facility." ManU also announced plans for "high-security hostile vehicle mitigation bollards" to improve security at the stadium (PA, 10/4).

Championship Rugby club Leigh Centurions is "struggling to stay afloat, let alone remain competitive" as cost cutting has led to "the chaos of player exodus, unpaid salaries and an injury-ravaged squad unable to field a full side." Total RL reported six members of Leigh's first-team squad were not paid their salaries in September, a report that Leigh clarified by "issuing a lengthy statement" outlining its financial situation. The future of the club has been uncertain since Owner Derek Beaumont "outlined his intentions to step away when a return to Super League was no longer possible" (RUNNING RUGBY, 10/4).
