Marketplace Roundup: NZ Women's Golf Open Will Not Be Played In '19

New Zealand Golf confirmed on Tuesday the loss of sports apparel and accessory brand McKayson as title sponsor means the New Zealand Women's Golf Open will not be played in '19. However, tournament promoter The Clubhouse Managing Dir Michael Goldstein "was upbeat" it would return for the '20 season (RADIO NZ, 10/2).

Serie A side Napoli announced Asia-focused online betting brand Nextbet as its first official regional partner. Nextbet will promote its brand and services in Asia through Napoli's image and identity, "all developed through multiple strategic tools such as digital assets and offline campaigns dedicated to fans across Asia." The agreement was facilitated by marketing consultancy SEM (SBC NEWS, 10/2).

Barcelona entered a partnership with Thom Browne in which the U.S. fashion designer will supply the squad with traveling suits for its European away trips. Thom Browne will become the official provider of the club's "off-field tailored fits and formal-wear uniforms" for the next three years (ESPN.com, 10/2).

South Korean conglomerate Doosan will be the presenting sponsor of the 2018 National League Division Series, marking the second year of the company's involvement with MLB's postseason. Fans will see Doosan commercials and branding across broadcast and digital platforms throughout the playoffs. MLB and Doosan will also create custom features for MLB Network and league digital channels (Octagon).

EuroLeague Basketball partnered with Lottery.com through the '21 season. Lottery.com will be featured on courts and in arenas throughout EuroLeague and EuroCup and will be incorporated into all of the league's official platforms (EuroLeague).

Premiership side Bath Rugby appointed sports marketing specialist Fifty-Three Six as its lead digital agency for the '18-19 season. Dublin-based Fifty-Three Six will be tasked with "driving ticket sales" for Bath's major Twickenham fixture, The Clash, on April 6 against Bristol (SPORT INDUSTRY, 10/2).

Indian Super League side Delhi Dynamos announced LED lights brand Andslite as the team's title sponsor for the '18-19 season. The LED company will promote football in India through the partnership (INSIDE SPORT, 10/1).

Brasileiro side Corinthians on Monday presented a shirt that pays homage to former Formula 1 driver Ayrton Senna, who died 24 years ago in an accident during the 1994 San Marino Grand Prix. The club's shirt will be part of its third uniform (EFE, 10/1).
