Marketplace Roundup: Argentina's River Plate Partners With PES 2019

Argentine Superliga side River Plate partnered with video game Pro Evolution Soccer 2019. The club announced the sponsorship agreement with the game, which is produced by Japanese company Konami, by "featuring the game’s name and logo on the shirt numbers of the players" during its 2-0 win over Boca Juniors. River Plate's shirts currently "have no sponsor on the front, instead featuring a multitude of partners on the sleeves and the back" (SOCCEREX, 9/25).

Arsenal expanded its global partnership with Konami. The deal is in its second year. PES 2019 will include 3D scans of Arsenal's players and Emirates Stadium (Arsenal).

Premier League side West Ham named Scope Markets its official online trading partner. The global partnership will provide multiple branding opportunities for Scope Markets and the two parties will work together across a range of commercial initiatives (West Ham).

The Adelaide 500 "will have a new name before tickets go on sale." Tickets to next year’s event "have been held" as the South Australian Tourism Commission "tries to clinch a deal with a new naming rights sponsor." SA Tourism Minister David Ridgway said that the new sponsor will "soon" sign a long-term deal (THE ADVERTISER, 9/25).

Shampoo brand Head & Shoulders named esports pro Roman "RAMZES666" Kushnarev its latest brand ambassador. The 19-year-old plays for Russian esports organization Virtus.pro’s Dota 2 team. Head & Shoulders released a new commercial "featuring Kushnarev as its main figure," which is currently running on Russian social media platform VK (THE ESPORTS OBSERVER, 9/25).

Formula E on Tuesday announced a long-term partnership with Saudi Arabian Airlines as the series' official airline partner and title partner of the inaugural Formula E race in Riyadh on Dec. 15. The deal with the airline coincides with "the introduction of a new visa process for fan travel to Saudi Arabia" (ARAB NEWS, 9/25).
