Optus Stadium To Hold Viewing Party For AFL Grand Final

Optus Stadium announced it will "open its doors" for Saturday’s Australian Football League grand final, "screening the match on its giant screens," according to Kate Smithers of 7NEWS PERTH. Optus Stadium CEO Mike McKenna said that it will be "the place to be for those not heading over East." McKenna: "The first 2,000 will be on the grass, if they choose to. The rest will be in the stands. Great viewing positions, great sounds." Tickets will go on sale on Tuesday for A$5 ($3.63), with proceeds going to Telethon. The stadium will not "be the only place in Perth expecting a big turnout for the huge fixture." Down the road at Crown Casino, "more than 3,000 people are expected to pack out the sports bar" (7NEWS PERTH, 9/23).
