Event Notes: RFL Chooses 7pm Kickoff For Million Pound Game

The Rugby Football League chose a 7pm kickoff time for the Million Pound Game on Oct. 7 "to suit three potential time zones in England, France or Canada." The playoff between the clubs finishing fourth and fifth in The Qualifiers will be played at the home ground of the highest-placed team. The Million Pound Game has been held at Wakefield, Hull KR and Leigh since its introduction four years ago -- but this will be its last year (BBC, 9/19).

The NFL San Francisco 49ers education consulting venture, EDU Academy, will travel to Leeds, England, on Thursday to bring science, technology, engineering, art and match learning concepts to students at Elland Road as part of the partnership between the 49ers and League Championship side Leeds United (San Francisco 49ers).
