Franchise Notes: Borussia Dortmund To Collaborate With Xi'an University

Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund signed a strategic partnership with Xi’an Physical Education University, with the two parties to collaborate on coaching. The university will reportedly take advantage of the German club's training system, ideas, coaches and management to raise the quality of the university’s education (YUTANG SPORTS, 9/17).

Cycling team JLT Condor announced it will "cease racing at the end of this season." The news comes "little more than a fortnight after" fellow British Int'l Cycling Union (UCI) Continental team One Pro Cycling said that it would "not be running a men’s team next season." Insurance broker JLT began co-sponsoring the team in '13, and the team was renamed JLT-Condor in '15 under a "three-year deal that is now ending" (ROAD.CC, 9/17).

Force India Formula 1 "will once again ban its drivers from racing each other after yet more contact" between Esteban Ocon and Sergio Pérez at the Singapore Grand Prix. In '17, the two drivers "collided at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix and twice at the Belgium Grand Prix." As a result, they were "internally banned from racing each other after the first lap shakeup had taken place" (AUTOWEEK, 9/16).
