League Notes: Probe Launched Into Alleged Fraud At Sri Lanka Cricket

Criminal investigators were called on Monday to investigate an alleged $5.5M fraud at Sri Lanka Cricket "involving money from a looming England tour." A police source said that detectives from the Criminal Investigation Department went to the offices of the national governing body in Colombo to "begin a probe" (PTI, 9/10).

The Japan Gymnastics Association on Monday "handed two senior officials a temporary suspension over their alleged harassment of an Olympic gymnast." The organization said that Chieko Tsukahara and her husband, Mitsuo, will be suspended from their duties until an independent committee finishes investigating the allegation by Olympian Sae Miyakawa (KYODO, 9/10).
