Club América Becomes First Liga MX Team To Open U.S. Office

With the goal of "consolidating its presence" in the U.S., Liga MX side América announced it opened an office in N.Y., according to LA AFICIÓN. The club "is one of the most-followed sports teams in the country, as it counts more than 6 million U.S. fans." The office will be located inside Univision's HQ in Midtown Manhattan. América hired former Barcelona exec Arturo de la Fuente as director of operations for the new U.S. office. The club is the first from Mexico to establish a U.S. presence (LA AFICIÓN, 9/4).
