Former WACA Chair Lachlan Henderson will join the nine-member CA board, replacing Bob Every. Henderson "stood down from the WACA" before taking on the CEO role of Epworth Health Care last year. CA will also need to find a replacement for Tony Harrison, who is stepping down. As changes continue at CA HQ, NSW Cricket appointed player agent Neil Maxwell to its board. Maxwell has a "long history in sports management," including "with NSW and New Zealand cricket," an Indian Premier League franchise and the Melbourne Cricket Club, but it is his role as a director on the Australian Cricketers' Association board that "makes his latest appointment particularly interesting" (THE AGE, 9/4).
MOVING ON: In Sydney, Peter Lalor reported there are signs that sections of Australian cricket "stopped fighting old battles and are ready to move on" from the pay dispute "chaos" of the recent past.
