Arsenal CEO Ivan Gazidis is "agonizing" over AC Milan’s offer to give him a "huge" raise to his to £2.6M ($3.4M) Arsenal wages to "quit the Emirates," according to Matt Law of the London TELEGRAPH. AC Milan wants Gazidis to take over as the Italian club’s CEO, with sources "claiming he could earn" over £1M ($1.3M)-a-year more to move to Italy. The expectation around Arsenal has been that Gazids will accept the Italian club's offer, but it is understood he is "yet to make a firm decision." AC Milan wants an answer from Gazidis "by the start of September." It "may be that Gazidis will need assurances" that the club's new American owner, Elliott Management, "can put up the money required to compete against Juventus, Napoli, Roma and Inter Milan." The 53-year-old’s influence at the Emirates "has never been bigger, but he may fear" that Arsenal simply does not "have the budget to compete" with its Premier League rivals (TELEGRAPH, 8/20).
