Football Notes: Scottish FA Rolling Out New Disciplinary System

The Scottish FA will "roll out a new look disciplinary system after recruiting former refs to study incidents missed by match officials." Outgoing compliance officer Tony McGlennan already used the revamped setup this season when he "opted against raising actions" against Steven Naismith and Scott Brown after clashes in Scottish Premiership side Heart of Midlothian's win against Celtic over the weekend. McGlennan will "no longer pursue red card claims unless there is unanimous agreement from the former officials" (Scotland DAILY RECORD, 8/15).

The Confederation of African Football's first VP, Amaju Pinnick, backed Cameroon's preparations to host the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations. Pinnick is chair of CAF's Nations Cup Organizing Committee and was part of its latest fact-finding visit to Cameroon, which concluded on Monday. There has been concerns about Cameroon's preparations ever since CAF President Ahmad said last August that the country would "have work to convince" African football's execs that it was ready (BBC, 8/14).
