Marketplace Roundup: Asian Games Partners With Qatar Airways

The Asian Games appointed Qatar Airways as its official airline. The event will take place in Jakarta and Palembang from Saturday through Sept. 2, bringing together athletes from 45 participating nations. This is the second time Qatar Airways has sponsored the Asian Games. The Qatar national carrier was also the official airline of the 15th Asian Games Doha 2006 (JAKARTA POST, 8/13).

Premier League side Leicester City announced gaming company M88 as its official betting partner. M88 will leverage the club's global brand in its marketing activities and the betting company's logo will appear across King Power Stadium on LED advertising boards (Leicester City).

Paris St. Germain announced cosmetics brand Lynx as a team partner of its esports team, PSG.LGD, for three months. The brand's logo will be featured on the sleeves of the shirts worn by the five players of the Dota 2 team (PSG).

Romanian side Dinamo Bucharest named online bookmaker Unibet its official betting partner. The partnership will involve the local community (Dinamo Bucharest).

Rank Group's Grosvenorsport.com signed former England football int'l Geoff Hurst as its brand ambassador. Hurst was "brought in by the operator to help launch its free-to-play Grosvenor Goals game" during the '18-19 season (GAMING INTELLIGENCE, 8/14).

Chinese esports organization Invictus Gaming signed a one-year sponsorship deal with Betway that includes "jersey branding and exclusive content creation." The agreement is focused on IG's Dota 2 team and will begin with The Int'l 2018 later this week (THE ESPORTS OBSERVER, 8/14).
