Int'l Champions Cup Draws More Than 1 Million Fans

Tottenham was crowned champion of the 2018 Int'l Champions Cup, which ended Saturday as Inter Milan defeated Atlético Madrid at the Wanda Metropolitano. This year's tournament, which was the sixth iteration of the event, took place over 22 days and featured 18 teams playing 27 games. The matches drew a combined attendance exceeding 1 million, with 8 games attracting more than 50,000 spectators and the game in Ann Arbor, Mich., drawing more than 100,000. The ICC's official website experienced a 28% year-on-year increase in traffic, while the ICC also reported a 316% spike in videos consumed on its branded properties, totaling 4.4 million minutes of content watched during the tournament. Tournament organizer Relevent CEO Daniel Sillman said, "Engaging with so many fans over the course of three weeks only energized us to see new opportunity to grow next year and in the years to come" (ICC).
