CFG Using SAP Technology To Improve Team, Fans' Experience

Man City owner City Football Group is working with data analysis provider SAP to "implement a variety of cloud-based solutions to simplify its worldwide operations, scale its business, increase productivity and enhance its fans' experience," according to Anna Tobin of FORBES. SAP SVP for Products and Innovation & Head of Sports and Entertainment Fadi Naoum said, "Together, CFG and SAP are revolutionizing technological enhancements in the areas of talent management and football performance." Technology is going to be "increasingly used in competitive sport in the future" and the "money that is swilling around the major leagues in global football means that internationally renowned football clubs have the investment readily available to take advantage of it." Naoum said, "This is an exciting time for sports technology. The emergence and rapid adoption of smart data, analytics, virtual reality, machine learning, biometric sensors and artificial intelligence are giving teams, leagues and athletes an array of tools. Information from this technology is revolutionizing how they train and perform" (FORBES, 8/9).
