COACHES/MANAGERS: Wales national rugby team defense coach SHAUN EDWARDS "will return to rugby league" as Super League side Wigan Warriors head coach in '20. Edwards, 51, who is "one of the most decorated players in Wigan history," will take over at his hometown club on a three-year contract after fulfilling his commitment to Wales at the 2019 World Cup in Japan (REUTERS, 8/9). ... Argentine RICARDO GARECA signed a three-year contract "to lead Peru's national team through qualifying for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar," he said on Wednesday. Gareca's decision will "likely come as relief" to the Peruvian Football Federation (FPF), whose president, EDWIN OVIEDO, "has been under pressure to resign" (REUTERS, 8/9).
