UEFA announced ROBERTO ROSETTI will replace PIERLUIGI COLLINA as its chief refereeing officer after Collina announced his decision to step down for personal reasons at the UEFA summer refereeing course in Nyon, Switzerland, on Wednesday. Collina, 58, was appointed as UEFA's first ever chief refereeing officer in '10 following his retirement as a referee in '05 (UEFA). ... MARY MORAN was named CEO for the group tasked with "exploring the potential" of hosting the 2026 Winter Olympics. She becomes the first woman in Canada to spearhead an Olympic bid, and takes a leave of absence from her position as president and CEO of Calgary Economic Development (REUTERS, 7/31).

COACHES/MANAGERS: The Argentine Rugby Union announced former hooker MARIO LEDESMA as coach of the national team. Ledesma replaces DANIEL HOURCADE, who resigned in June (REUTERS, 8/1).
