Marketplace Roundup: World Rugby Extends HSBC Partnership

HSBC "doubled down on its rugby partnership" until '23, signing a new four-year deal with Rugby Sevens. As well as holding the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series, the bank will also become the official banking partner of World Rugby. The tie-up encompasses both men's and women's rugby (THE DRUM, 7/23).

Bundesliga side Fortuna Düsseldorf unveiled its new away shirt using augmented reality. The club launched a smartphone app called "Trikottaufe" last week, "with its prime objective to allow fans to watch the presentation of the club's new away playing shirt" (SOCCEREX, 7/23).

Techeetah confirmed its "long-rumoured" partnership with DS Automobiles, with the team "becoming a works manufacturer squad" ahead of Formula E's fifth season in '18-19. The Chinese team was a Renault customer outfit for the last two seasons "but will now take over from Virgin Racing as the DS works team" (MOTORSPORT, 7/23).

League One side Bristol Rovers announced online betting company Mintbet as its back-of-shirt sponsor for the '18-19 season (TOTALLY GAMING, 7/23).

Man City replaced the Etihad logo on its kit with the Special Olympics World Games Abu Dhabi 2019 logo for its Int'l Champions Cup match against Borussia Dortmund on Friday (Man City).
