SERGIO MARCHIONNE was replaced as CEO of Ferrari Formula 1 and sister company Fiat "as a result of an illness." Fiat said that the 66-year-old "suffered complications following surgery." A statement from Ferrari added that Marchionne "would not be able to return to work." JOHN ELKANN was named chair of Ferrari, while LOUIS CAREY CAMILLERI became CEO. Briton MIKE MANLEY, former head of the Jeep division of Fiat, was named CEO of the Fiat Chrysler group (BBC, 7/21). ... AC Milan announced on Saturday former oil group Eni CEO PAOLO SCARONI was "put in charge" of the club while it searches for a new CEO. Scaroni was named exec chair and will "take on interim management of the club." AC Milan CEO MARCO FASSONE, who was hired last year by the club's former Chinese owners, "stepped down with immediate effect" (REUTERS, 7/21). ... Former Portugal national football team coach PAULO BENTO was sacked from his role as head coach of Chinese Super League side Chongqing Dangdai Lifan. The club revealed HAO HAITAO, one of Bento's assistants, will take over "on an interim basis" (XINHUA, 7/22).
