Former Brazilian football int'l Ronaldinho announced his own esports strategy, "including the release of a personalised cryptocurrency," according to SOCCEREX. The Ronaldinho Soccer Coin was developed alongside World Soccer Coin, a Malta-based company, and is now in the initial coin offering phase, with 350 million RSCs "made available for consumers to purchase." With the aid of the revenue generated by the new coin, the former Barcelona player "hopes to develop" a football academy and host fixtures as well as focus on digital football projects (SOCCEREX, 7/20). CRYPTO DISRUPT's Alan Wass reported Ronaldinho's long-term goals with the coin are also to develop VR stadiums that "will help to improve a player through analyzing player skills and to develop a blockchain database to create new teams." The technology for these ventures will be created by Chinese company NEO. The VR stadiums will be developed in 300 destinations across the planet, with the first areas being in Southeast Asia, Africa and the Middle East (CRYPTO DISRPUT, 7/22).
