AS Roma Becomes First Serie A Club To Stream Match On Twitter

AS Roma became "the first Serie A club to broadcast an entire match live on Twitter," according to SOCCEREX. The club streamed its preseason game against Serie D side Latina on the social media platform on Saturday as it triumphed 9-0. AS Roma reported that more than 100,000 fans tuned into the game via their Italian Twitter accounts. The club also claimed its official accounts generated more interactions on the social media platform in June than any other team in Italy "and registered the highest engagement rate" of the top 10 clubs in Europe. The club's decision to stream its preseason friendly came after AS Roma President Jim Pallotta pledged in '15 to make the team "one of the most forward-thinking, technologically advanced clubs" in professional football (SOCCEREX, 7/16).
