The Argentine FA agreed to part ways with coach JORGE SAMPAOLI after Argentina "crashed out of the World Cup in the round of 16." The decision will end Sampaoli's "tenuous 14-month stint" with the organization and "plunges the team into further uncertainty." Sampaoli was hired after leaving Sevilla in May '17 to "provide stability" after the sackings of GERARDO MARTINO and EDGARDO BAUZA (ESPN.com, 7/15). ... Venue manager Spectra named WWE Senior Dir of Global Live Event Booking ANDREW FORSTADT VP/entertainment & events (Spectra). ... Former England cricketer JAMES TAYLOR was appointed a national team selector. He will be part of a new selection panel which includes former batsman ED SMITH, who was named a national selector in April, and team coach TREVOR BAYLISS (REUTERS, 7/13). ... Chelsea appointed MAURIZIO SARRI head coach, with Napoli midfielder JORGINHO joining his former manager at Stamford Bridge after "sealing his move." The midfielder was unveiled after the club agreed to a fee of €57M ($66.7M). Jorginho singed a five-year deal, while Sarri agreed to a three-year contract to replace ANTONIO CONTE (London GUARDIAN, 7/14).
