Formula E Teams, Sponsors Activate Around N.Y. Series Finale

DHL

Formula E’s season-finale double header started Saturday in Brooklyn, and a host of teams and partners activated and promoted in N.Y. over the weekend. DHL, Formula E’s official logistics partner, gave out free rides across parts of N.Y. in 14 Nissan Leaf electric vehicles as part of its e-mobility/sustainability push, with a catch that fans were required to download DHL’s Mobility Quest app to hail the ride. Official Formula E partner Allianz worked with the series and Museum of Modern Art to set up a VR experience that took users into the future to experience things like manned drones and unmanned AI vehicles, as well as touching down on Mars.

MS&AD Andretti sponsor T.E. Connectivity unveiled a 360-video experience on its Facebook page that showed team owner Michael Andretti welcoming fans before they went on a tour of the paddock and two laps around the circuit. T.E. Connectivity also took its two drivers around N.Y. Thursday for surprise visits to customers. Meanwhile, Monaco-based team Venturi Racing took part in an event on Thursday at the United Nations on sustainability, while series title sponsor ABB and English car brand Jaguar both hosted panel sessions this weekend on the topic.
