CRISTIANO RONALDO's agent, JORGE MENDES, claimed Juventus will be the Portugal captain's "last club before he retires from playing." Ronaldo, 33, penned a four-year contract worth €500,000 ($583,675) per week with the Serie A club (London DAILY MAIL, 7/12). ...  Honda MotoGP rider DANI PEDROSA announced he will retire from Grand Prix motorcycle racing at the end of '18. Pedrosa, who turns 33 in September, has been part of the Honda works setup since '06, but was "left without a ride for next year" when the team signed JORGE LORENZO as his replacement for '19 (AUTOSPORT, 7/12). ... Seven-year MLB veteran JOSH COLLMENTER will play for the New Zealand entry into the Australian Baseball League this summer, but his "commitment to growing the game" does not stop there. The 32-year-old pitcher is among the coaching staff of a New Zealand U15 development team that traveled to Taiwan this week for a series of games. Collmenter said that it was "paramount" to help develop the game at the youth level (NEW ZEALAND HERALD, 7/12).
