His Atlético Madrid contract expired this summer and was not renewed, with his final appearance as a 90th-minute substitute in the Europa League final win over Olympique de Marseille (BBC, 7/10). ... Olympic Bronze Medal-winning sprinter WARREN WEIR won selection for the Jamaica rugby sevens squad and will make his debut at the upcoming Central American & Caribbean Games in Barranquilla, Colombia (London TELEGRAPH, 7/10). ... CRISTIANO RONALDO will visit Korea this month for the first time in 11 years. Korea Tech, a local beauty and home appliance retailer, said that Ronaldo will visit Korea on July 25 to promote a Japanese brand fitness product and "will have meet and greet events for fans" (YONHAP, 7/10). ... Red Bull Formula 1 driver MAX VERSTAPPEN believes two-time F1 champion FERNANDO ALONSO is "toying with the idea of moving to IndyCar because his motivation in Formula 1 is gone." Verstappen said that he is "not interested in anything but Formula 1 at this point in his career." Verstappen: "Doing things outside F1 is something that happens mainly with drivers who are not winning." When asked if he is interested in following Alonso to the U.S. and Le Mans, Verstappen said, "Maybe. If I'm old and slow, I will do it" (AUTOWEEK, 7/9).

Later in the show, we hear from ESPN’s VP of Programming and Acquisitions Tim Reed as the NFL Draft gets set to kick off on Thursday night in Motown.
